Since it was erected in the early 17th century, this building has served various different purposes including as the Admiralty’s Head Office, stores, a trade school and as the Malta Labour Party headquarters until it was taken over by the Macina Development Company Limited. We are currently working with our clients to promote the building for new investment and with their support, we took the opportunity to hold our anniversary event here. This was no easy task and our staff together with various suppliers and sponsors worked for weeks to clean and decorate the interior and get it ready for the event.

As part of the decorations we set up ten art installations to illustrate our history from humble beginnings in 1995 to the present day.

Assignment: The job was to create the brand and website from scratch. This included the name, the colour scheme, all collateral material and the shopping web site itself. The design had to be suitable equally well for both males and females of all ages, thus attracting them into purchasing from the web site without any hesitation.

Strategy: The look and feel of the web site was the most important aspect of the whole project. The design had to portray an elegant style without compromising functionality or ease of use. A simple and minimalistic design style was adopted which makes it easy on the eye yet refreshing in mood. The team wanted to entice people visiting the web site into spending some time navigating through the product range available with a high possibility of purchase before leaving the web site.

Features pertaining to the website: An extensive product listing with deep free search facility, a cart system and on-line purchasing service, vouchers and discounts was also implemented for customers to benefits from price reductions and offers. A “Subscribe to our Newsletter” is also a feature that has been greatly welcomed by site visitors in order to keep up-dated with latest offers and product news. Payments system includes a choice between Paypal and a vast selection of credit cards.

Finally an on-line marketing campaign was employed at launch involving social media such as FaceBook & Google Ad Words.

Results: Our client obtained a full blown online business-in-a-box solution within a matter of weeks, and within a short time started to recoup his initial investment and register profits.

Duplex Real Estate branding, the organising company behind the HSBC Malta Property EXPO handed over all marketing responsibilities to Logix.  The first step was to plan and implement a marketing campaign that would reach the target audience directly. This also included design & production of advertising for television, newspapers, web, radio, billboards and magazines. Secondly, other marketing campaigns for a number of EXPO clients where planned and implemented by Logix along with design and printing of marketing materials for the event itself as well as post-event. The EXPO printed material included promotional fliers, personnel tags, invites, brochures and tickets. The team also was responsible for all press relations where they set up a number of interviews and published press releases on all local and various foreign media.

The Expo’s website – www.maltapropertyexpo.com was also designed, hosted and maintained by Logix. The site included an interactive exhibitor section with regular updates and facilities including a post-event survey system to gather feedback.

Results: Exhibitor participation continued to increase from the first edition, and although footfall was not markedly higher, more sales were registered as the quality of visitors was improved.

Assignment: Our job was to find the most suitable ways to reach out to mass audiences and explain that the Marlene brand may be being used by illegal traders to sell inferior quality apples under the same brand name. The support of fruit vendors and green grocers was imperative for the success of this campaign. So it had to have the participation from the general public as well as from shops and wholesalers.

Strategy: We teamed up with Malta’s most popular TV programme Xarabank to create a national awareness campaign and tied-in competition. This was also supported with extensive print media advertising and point of sale posters. Consumers were encouraged to ask for a competition ticket at their point of purchase when buying a kilo of Marlene apples. The filled in coupons with the participant’s replies and personal details were then sent to Xarabank. All entries were placed in an urn for a live draw during the show. In all 22 all expenses paid trips to Alto Adige were won with the lucky winners visiting the Marlene headquarters and seeing where their favourite apples came from.

The campaign was also backed up by advertising on print media, on three leading local newspapers in both Maltese and English; PR campaign, including leading industry periodicals. Marlene’s support through their international brand website was also instrumental to make the campaign more powerful for local consumers.

Results: Marlene apples sales increased dramatically during, as well as after the campaign ran and parallel imports were marginalized out of the market.

Assignment: Our assignment was to design a simple yet strong brand identity that can be adapted for use by different business types.

Strategy: The brand design was carried out throughout. The typeface and colours used were simple yet strong. A complete CI manual was designed including interior design of offices, signage, staff uniforms, design of collateral material, print adverts, website, TV and merchandise material.

The re-branding campaign was followed by a series of product type offers on all national media to reinforce the brand. Additional TV productions were managed by ROCS Media, a subsidiary company within ROCS Group itself. With such a strong brand identity, the Group was able to achieve more cross selling and maximized resourses. The advertising campaign included TV, radio, street pole advertising, bus shelters, newspapers, magazines, cinema, PR, events, point of sale and merchandise.

Results: Within the span of a few weeks, awareness of the brand had increased dramatically and business levels started to improve immediately. It must be said that as with many other cases, it is not our work on its own that delivers these results, but the synergy, hard work and determination of our client cannot go unnoticed.

Assignment: As part of the ROCS re-branding process, we assisted the company’s management in diversifying the group’s business into retail operations. After a suitable brand was selected and the location for opening the first outlet was identified, we embarked on offcially launching the brand with the general public.

Strategy: Building on Rachel Vella’s huge TV personality, the launch campaign used prominent local celebrities to introduce Inglot as the choice of opinion leaders. The campaign was launched just before Christmas 2007 building a huge initial momentum through excellent Christmas sales. A national advertising campaign immediatley reinforced the ROCS brand even if the ROCS Retail logo was not used.

The advertising campaign included street pole advertising, magazines, TV and radio, exclusive red carpet events, point of sale and merchandise. TV productions were produced in collaboration with ROCS Media.

Results: Following hotly after the re-branding of ROCS Group, Inglot became the talk of the town within a few short weeks. Literally it gained such recognition within an extremely short span of time that it became a household name within a matter of weeks. This initial momentum was mantained with constant promotions crafted in close partnership with the client.

Assignment: Our job was to  create 12 different themes with a new tag line running throughout for a period of at least one year. The company supplies a vast range of furniture and furnishings in all types of styles and although the Fino name communicates high quality across the board, different styles appeal to different people’s tastes. We chose the tagline “Very Fino” as it explains that certain intangible element that is Fino.

Strategy: With 12 very different models, the campaign consisted of a different theme for every month. Different people would identify with different models in one month or another. This created an always fresh and very eye catching appeal. After extensive casting sessions, the models were selected and photo shoots  were organized. The model shots were used in monochrome with colour highlights on selected areas. This left the main focus on the product itself. The glamour of the live photo shoot was then used to create a 30 sec TV commercial. Design of print advertising including billboards, magazines, web, newspapers, in-store posters and wall and desktop calendars followed.

Results: Within the first few months of running the campaign, the term “very Fino” started becoming part of common parlance to describe objects that are cool, stylish and very desirable.

Assignment: The objective to revamp the brand with a fresh look that incorporates lifestyle and family values was achieved through creative adaptation of different lifestyle shots for each product range. with the running tagline “For Generations”.  This tag line may be interpreted in different ways which are all valid.

Strategy: The design strategy adopted was one that would build and improve on an already well established and respected brand. The previous logo was simplified, improving on it and re-launching under the 70th year anniversary with a new campaign gave us the opportunity to show that through time the company had remained truthful to its core values, yet keen on adapting to change.

The campaign consisted of bringing together all the products under one trusted brand. The design work used had 3 important elements: lifestyle imagery, depicting the love of family through black & white and sepia photos; product shots in colour, which gave an idea of the product range available under the Oxford House brand in an elegant way; finally the layout of the adverts. The advert templates were kept simple, a dash of colour was added to bring life to the artworks and text was kept to a minimum. Emphasising the message of the For Generations campaign and the categories of the product range the company represents. The media mix included print advertising: magazines & newspapers, radio and TV, which was very prominent during the initial launch. The TVC also included a short company history. A catalogue web site soon followed, which gave the opportunity to present most of the product range available on-line. Other works involved were the re-designing of all the shop signage, vehicle stickers, company calendars & other collateral material.

Assignment: The main challenge of this assignment was to promote a hundred year old bank in a modern and engaging way while respecting its conservative identity. The concept had to be smart, fresh and simple to understand, with a fresh approach that is easily accessible for the general public. The Bank’s practice of community banking had to be clearly communicated throughout the campaign.

Strategy: Priority was given to the Bank’s shared values of Security, Integrity, Respect and Sustainability. Images and footage were conceived to communicate each value but not in an obvious or direct way. For example a school of fish and marine fauna was used to communicate “Respect”. This can be interpreted as respect for the client, respect for staff, for the environment, etc.

A very important aspect of this campaign was the collaboration we initiated with the award winning Christian rock band SALT. Their driving track “Want to be with you” was used in the TV commercial with excellent results. With this track, the production became much more appealing for younger audiences, without alienating the Bank’s traditionally older and more conservative client base.

The TV campaign was launched on a national scale during the quarter finals of World Cup 2010, with a follow up on practically all media, including newspapers, outdoor and magazines culminating around the opening of the Bank’s Head Office building in October. This also coincided with the launch of new programme schedules on all major TV stations.  PR and web marketing were also used extensively in this campaign.

Results: Feedback from all quarters was extremely encouraging with all objectives being met.
